Swedish massage is the classic relaxation experience and the most popular first-time choice at our Seminole spa. A 60 minute Swedish session at $70 uses long flowing strokes, gentle kneading, and warm oil to calm your nervous system. The pressure is light to medium — enough to release surface tension without intense work. You undress to your comfort level, stay covered with clean sheets the entire session, and walk out feeling lighter, calmer, and ready to sleep deeply. It is the kind of hour your nervous system has been quietly asking for.

Who is Swedish massage good for?

Swedish massage is the right choice if you mainly want to relax, switch off, and reset your nervous system after a stressful week. It works well for first-timers, busy parents, anyone with anxiety or trouble sleeping, and people who find deep tissue too intense. It is not the best choice for chronic muscle pain or athletic recovery — for those, deep tissue or Thai are better fits. Many of our regulars at our Seminole walk-in spa book Swedish on Friday evenings as a weekly stress reset, then alternate with deep tissue on busier weeks.

What to expect in your first Swedish session

When you arrive at our Seminole location, the front desk will check you in and walk you to a private room. You undress to your comfort level — most guests keep underwear on — while the therapist waits outside. Once you are face-down under the sheet, the therapist returns, knocks, and begins. The session uses warm oil and long flowing strokes, starting with the back and shoulders, then working down the legs, then having you turn over for the front of the body. Pressure is fully adjustable — just say if anything feels too light or too firm. Sessions are 30 or 60 minutes.

Swedish vs deep tissue — which to pick

Swedish uses light to medium pressure and long flowing strokes for relaxation. Deep tissue uses firmer pressure and slower targeted strokes for chronic muscle pain. If you mostly want to switch off and unwind, pick Swedish. If you have specific tight spots in your back, neck, or shoulders that have been bothering you for weeks, pick deep tissue. Both are $70 for 60 minutes at our Sunny Thai Spa in Seminole. Many regulars do Swedish for the mental reset and deep tissue when their body needs more focused work — your therapist can also blend the two in one session.

How often should you come?

For general stress relief, once or twice a month works well. For anxiety or sleep issues, weekly for the first month often breaks the cycle, then every other week. Many of our Seminole regulars come every Friday or Saturday after work as a weekly wind-down. Walk in any day from 9 AM to 10:30 PM, or call 727-289-7609 to lock in a specific therapist. There is no membership and no commitment — come as often or as little as your week needs.

Long flowing strokes, calm music, warm room — the easiest way to switch off after a long week.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is Swedish massage at Sunny Thai Spa?
A 30 minute Swedish session is $50 and a 60 minute Swedish session is $70. Same price as our other styles — Thai, deep tissue, and hot oil are all $50/$70 for 30 or 60 minutes. Pricing is posted at the front of our Seminole location and never changes between guests or visits. We accept cash and major credit cards. There is no membership pressure and no upsell during the session at our Seminole walk-in spa.
Is Swedish massage good for first-timers?
Yes — Swedish is by far the most popular first-time choice at our Seminole spa, and for good reason. The pressure is gentle enough that nothing feels intense or surprising, the long flowing strokes are easy to relax into, and the experience is what most people picture when they think of massage. About a third of our walk-in guests are first-timers, and most start with a 60 minute Swedish at $70. Just tell us at check-in that you are new and your therapist will explain everything as you go.
Will I be covered during the massage?
Yes — you stay covered with clean sheets the entire session. The therapist only folds the sheet back over the area being worked on (back, leg, arm), then re-covers it before moving to the next area. You undress in privacy with the door closed and the therapist outside. Most guests keep underwear on. Some prefer fully covered. Some go without. All are normal and your therapist will adjust accordingly. Sheets are replaced between every guest at our Seminole spa.
How long should my first Swedish massage be?
A 60 minute session at $70 is the most popular first-time choice and gives you the full experience — back, shoulders, neck, arms, legs, and feet. A 30 minute session at $50 is great for a quick reset on just the back and shoulders if you are short on time. Plan for about 75 minutes total at the spa for a 60 minute session, including check-in, changing, and payment. About 40 minutes total for a 30 minute session. Most first-timers book the 60 minute and find the time goes faster than expected.
What kind of oil do you use?
We use a warm light coconut-based oil with a subtle natural scent, suitable for most skin types. It absorbs cleanly without leaving you feeling greasy and washes off easily. If you have sensitive skin or allergies to coconut, almond, or any specific oils, just let the front desk know at check-in and we can use an alternative or unscented option. The oil stays on the skin during the massage and is wiped off with a warm towel at the end. You can shower at home if you prefer to fully wash it off afterward.
