About a third of our walk-in guests at Sunny Massage & Spa in Seminole are first-timers. Over the years we've heard pretty much every question that goes through someone's head before their first massage. Here are the 22 most common, answered honestly.

Money and booking
1. How much is it? $50 for 30 minutes, $70 for 60 minutes. Posted at the front, same every visit.
2. Do I need to book ahead? No. Walk in any day 9 AM – 10:30 PM. Call 727-289-7609 if you want to lock in a specific time.
3. Do I need to tip? Tipping is appreciated but never required. Most regulars tip $10–$15 on a 60 minute session if they feel the therapist went above and beyond.
4. Do you take credit cards? Yes — Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover. Cash also fine.
5. Is there a membership pitch? No. No membership, no auto-renewal, no upsell during the session.
What to wear
6. What should I wear in? Whatever's comfortable. Loose clothes are easiest to slip back on after the session.
7. Do I undress for the massage? To your comfort level. Most guests keep underwear on. Some prefer fully covered. Some go without. All are normal.
8. Where do I change? In the private room with the door closed. Therapist leaves the room while you change, knocks before re-entering.
9. Will I be covered during the massage? Yes — you stay covered with clean sheets the entire time. Therapist only folds the sheet back over the area being worked on.
The session itself
10. What style should I pick? Swedish if you mostly want to relax. Deep tissue if you have specific muscle pain. If you can't decide, just say "I'm new" and we'll recommend Swedish. See our Swedish vs Thai guide.
11. What if it's too firm? Just say so. Therapist will adjust immediately.
12. What if it's not firm enough? Same — just say so.
13. Will I have to talk? No. Most guests stay quiet. Talk only if you want to.
14. What if I fall asleep? Many guests do. It's a compliment, not a problem.
Comfort and privacy
15. What if I'm not in great shape? Therapists see every body type all day. They have no opinion. None.
16. Is the room actually private? Yes — closing door, only you and your therapist inside. Soft warm lighting, calm music at low volume.
17. Are the sheets clean? Replaced between every guest. Massage table wiped down with hospital-grade cleaner between sessions.
18. What if I need a bathroom break? Just ask. Therapist will pause the session and step out.
After the session
19. How long is the whole visit? About 75 minutes for a 60 minute session — including check-in, changing, and payment.
20. Will I be lightheaded after? Mildly, yes. Sit on the edge of the table for a minute before standing. Drink water before driving.
21. How often should I come back? Once a month for general maintenance. Weekly for chronic pain reset for the first month, then monthly. See our how often guide.
22. What if I want to come back same week? Totally fine. No rules. Walk in whenever your body tells you to.
The single most important thing first-timers should know: you're in control of your comfort the entire time.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a first-time massage at Sunny Massage & Spa?
Same price as every visit — $50 for 30 minutes, $70 for 60 minutes. There is no first-time discount that disappears later, and no first-time upcharge either. Pricing is posted at the front and stays the same every guest, every visit. We accept cash and major credit cards. About a third of our walk-in guests are first-timers, so just tell us at check-in and we'll guide you through every step. A 60 minute Swedish massage at $70 is the most popular first-time choice.
Do I have to know what kind of massage to ask for?
No, just say I'm new — what do you recommend? Our front desk will pick the right style for you in about 30 seconds based on what you tell them. If you mostly want to relax, they'll suggest Swedish. If you have specific pain, they'll suggest deep tissue. If you want a mix, a blend. Pressure is fully adjustable throughout the session, so even if the initial pick isn't perfect, your therapist will adjust on the spot when you say something feels too firm or too light.
Will the therapist judge my body?
No. Therapists see every body type all day, every day, year after year. They have no opinion about how anyone looks. The only thing they care about is whether the pressure feels right and whether you're comfortable. Most first-time guests are surprised how completely non-judgmental the whole experience is. You stay covered with clean sheets the entire time anyway — only the area being worked on is uncovered briefly, then re-covered before moving on.
What if I'm too nervous to undress?
Just stay dressed. Wear loose clothes you don't mind getting a little oil on, and your therapist will work over them. The massage will be slightly less effective than skin-to-skin contact for areas like the back, but it's perfectly fine and very common for first-timers. Or, you can choose Thai massage instead, which is done fully clothed by design. There is zero pressure either way at our Seminole spa.
Is it weird to come alone?
Not at all. Most of our guests come solo. About 70% of our walk-in traffic is single-session guests on their own time. The lobby is small and quiet so you won't feel watched. The whole experience is designed for one person to walk in, get an hour of quiet, and walk out. If coming alone feels intimidating for the first visit, bring a friend along — they can wait in the lobby with water while you get your massage.
The 22 questions covered above are the most common ones first-time Sunny Massage & Spa guests ask. But three additional questions come up surprisingly often after the first session, when guests have realized they wished they had known earlier.
First: how often should I come back? The honest answer depends on what you want from massage. For general stress relief, monthly works. For chronic tension, biweekly or weekly. For peak athletic training or high-stress life seasons, weekly. The Sunny Massage & Spa flat-rate pricing of $50/30min and $70/60min makes any cadence financially sustainable, so the body becomes the limiting factor rather than the cost.
Second: should I shower before or after? Either works. Most guests shower before for comfort. Some guests prefer to keep the residual oil on their skin for several hours after for the lingering hydrated feeling. There is no rule.
Third: can I bring questions to my next session? Yes — Sunny Massage & Spa therapists welcome guest questions about anything related to massage, your body, or what to expect from specific modalities. Just ask at the start of your session. Walk-in 9 AM to 10:30 PM, 7 days, at 6100 Seminole Blvd.
